The number which appears to the right of a writer's name is that writer's popularity rating. The popularity rating is the extrapolated average number of readers who come from outside of Kerplop to read this writer's articles every month.
Writers who have not yet attracted readers from outside of Kerplop have no number displayed.
A star is added after the writer reaches a popularity rating of 100 or more. The color of the star indicates the popularity level of the writer as indicated in the Key.
